Dear Community Members:
I would like to take this opportunity to update you on the repairs to our gymnasium. The old roof and steel decking have been removed and replaced with new decking and a new roof. The electricians are now in the process of putting in place the wiring for our new LED lighting. We also have contractors putting up new dry wall and plaster to repair some of the damage that was done inside when the old ceiling was removed. Soon, painters will be in to paint the new decking and beams as well as the walls and molding.
This has been a long and difficult process for our staff and students, but everyone has been very cooperative and flexible finding other ways to go about holding physical education classes and recess and I would like to thank them all for their understanding and cooperation.
We are very hopeful that we will have full use of the gymnasium back by the end of the month. We are planning to be able to hold our spring concert in the gym on Tuesday, May 23, even if all the work is not entirely completed by that time.
If you have any questions regarding these emergency repairs please feel free to call me at school at 676-3166 Ext. 103.
