BREAST CANCER AWARENESS The girls J.V. and Varsity basketball teams sponsored a Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser during their January home basketball games, ending with their home game vs. Downsville on February 2. The teams sold t-shirts, 50-50 raffle tickets, and sponsored half-court shots for a $1.00 during half time of their games and have raised nearly $600.00 at this time. On February 2, 2010 the girls encouraged everyone to wear pink during the school day and to their game that evening in support of their cause. They wore special shirts during warms-ups as did the Downsville varsity team. The referees for the game wore their white whistles instead of their usual black in support. We are very proud of the girls for all their efforts in such a worthy cause.
