State Testing Letter
Tuesday, March 15, 2022

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):

As our winter is moving behind us and spring weather will soon be upon our children with warmer days, also remember that State testing occurs too.  As you are aware, the State tests provide teachers and the district information to help target assistance to our students and identify skills that are going well.  That said, kindly remember that children in grades 3-8 will be taking the New York State English Language Arts and Math Assessments.

The NYS 3-8 ELA tests are scheduled for Wednesday, March 30 for session 1 and Thursday, March 31st for session 2.

The NYS 3-8 Math tests are scheduled for Tuesday, April 26th for session 1, and Wednesday, April 27th for session 2.

The Grade 4 & 8 Science Written Tests are scheduled for Monday, June 6th.

Please know that if anything changes with the state requirements, we will communicate that information to you as soon as possible.

To help ensure that your child does well, please remind them to have a good night’s sleep before returning to school on the first day of testing and eat a good breakfast. Breakfast is available in the cafeteria to all students at no cost.  Also, please be sure they arrive at school on time the day of testing.  Should you have additional questions, feel free to contact me at (845)676-3166 X 129.

Respectfully,

Maureen Burton - Dean/CSE Chairperson
