Katy (Catherine) Barber Graves has been a resident of Delaware County since childhood, growing up in Hobart, NY and a proud alumna of South Kortright Central School District. She brings over 34 years of experience in education to the position of Interim Superintendent of Andes CSD, including two decades of both school building and district administrative leadership. This is also coupled with her lifelong passion for children and educational leadership.
Katy most recently spent four months as the Interim Superintendent of South Kortright CSD supporting the Board of Education and school community during the completion of their Superintendent search and supporting the new Superintendent as he was welcomed into the District . Prior to her retirement from school leadership, Katy was the Superintendent of Sag Harbor Union Free School District, located on the east end of Long Island. Her other leadership roles over the years have included Superintendent of Stamford Central School, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction of Windham Ashland Jewett Central School, Elementary Principal of Otego Elementary, and Assistant Principal and Placement Coordinator of the Northern Catskills Occupational Center with ONC BOCES. Katy began her years in education as the Home Economics and Health teacher with Jefferson Central School. Throughout her time in educational leadership, her guiding philosophy has always been to “do what’s best for children, fair for adults, and what the community can sustain.”
Katy and her husband, Glenn Graves, live in Stamford, NY where they enjoy frequent visits from their four adult children, grandchildren, and large family. Katy is honored to be serving the Andes School Community.
